As a result of many years of scientific research, the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology has developed a new approach to searching for physiologically active peptides.

Based on the analysis of the amino acid sequence of polypeptides from animal organs and tissues, short peptides were isolated that contain 3 amino acids, which are the «active center» of the drug based on extracts from animal raw materials.

This made it possible to create a new class of natural biologically active food supplements – parapharmaceuticals, which received the general name Cytogens®. In terms of efficiency, short peptides are superior to drugs based on extracts, act in minimal dosages, and do not cause side effects. This class of bioregulators has no analogues in world practice.

Scientists study the most effective parts of natural peptides and recreate them precisely, usually as three-amino-acid compounds.
